Late Bloomer
Late Bloomer
It has been quite a while since I've planted flowers from seeds, and I admit I was really late in getting them in. I usually just buy the annuals and plant those. While we were on vacation this summer, the kids decided to clean up my flower bed since it was getting overrun while we were gone. However, my daughter who says she helped the most doesn't know a weed from a sprouting seed. They had just started popping through when we left for vacation, and she cleaned out all of them, I thought.
I didn't know until today that the only ones that she didn't pick was these Cosmos. I have never planted Cosmos before, and wasn't sure when I saw the leaves that look like a fern what in the world had made it. I admit at first, I wasn't even sure if it wasn't a weed since we do have those weeds that look like a carrott sprouting.
Well today, when I went out to water the flower bed, Yeah!! I am going to have some flowers on them even if it is late so will get to enjoy some blooms before the weather gets too cold and they frost and die.
It added a smile to my day. Next year...I resolve to start them inside early in those peat pots. (Hopefully ;-)
Black Beaded Bag
Black Beaded Bag
I found this black beaded bag at the resale shop today. Had to have it...not sure why, it just looked old, but not sure it is. It has great bead work on it, looks like it use to have a chain to carry and it has never been used. I thought it would even make a great decoration in bathroom, bedroom, etc. Or just to carry for something different for makeup, but really too cute to use. I may sell it on ebay or somewhere also since I got it so reasonable.
Any ideas on how to put it to use?

Swan Video
Swan Video
When fishing over the week-end, we spotted this swan at Indian Lake so here is a video. They say there is a family of 5 there, but we only saw this one. Also read that they mate for life, but sometimes do divorce.
Walking Away
Walking Away
Another from the pictures taken the week-end at Mohican Lake with my 35 mm film camera. We were just checking things out and taking a walk, and when under the trees, I wanted them to stop and turn around so I could snap the picture. However, after a week-end of me taking pictures (I always have a camera ready), they just kept walking, and I said, "Oh Well" and snapped it anyway. It's faded some over the years, but thought it was an okay shot when I had the film developed.
